About this Classroom Training
The rapid evolution of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) is significantly transforming energy management. As the demand for reliable and efficient energy solutions surges driven by the increasing reliance on digital infrastructure and renewable energy sources, BESS has become essential for enhancing energy resilience and operational efficiency. Recent trends show a marked shift towards integrating advanced battery technologies, such as lithium-ion and emerging chemistries, into utility-scale applications.
This integration not only facilitates peak shaving and backup power capabilities but also supports the transition to sustainable energy practices. The battery storage market is expanding rapidly, with substantial investments in research and development aimed at improving performance, lifespan, and cost-effectiveness. As organisations seek to optimise their energy strategies, understanding the intricacies of BESS from foundational knowledge of various battery chemistries to the complexities of system design and implementation has become imperative.
This course is designed to equip participants with critical insights into current market dynamics, technological advancements, and best practices for deploying BESS. Through real-world case studies and interactive activities, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of system design principles, procurement processes, and operational strategies necessary for successful BESS implementation.
Additionally, on day 4, the course offers an optional session focusing on the unique challenges and opportunities of integrating BESS in data centre environments. Participants will explore design principles tailored for data centres, including redundancy requirements and integration challenges, while engaging with case studies that provide insights into daily operations and maintenance strategies. By completing this course, participants will enhance their technical knowledge and empower themselves to make informed decisions that align with the future of energy management.
This course will be delivered via face to face over 3-day sessions, comprising of 6 hours 30 minutes per day, 2 breaks of 15 minutes per session. Course Duration: 19.30 hours in total, 19.30 CPD points. For those signing up till day 4, Course Duration: 26 hours in total, 26 CPD points.
