About this Training Course
Participants will learn about the basics of LNG value chain and its project economics using Excel modelling for a variety of investment decision analytics. This is a 4 full-day classroom-based training where each participant will build an Excel economic/financial model from scratch for projects specific to LNG and upstream Oil & Gas.
The focus of this course will be to learn LNG economics using Excel as well as learn about key investment, capital budgeting principle, commercial and business drivers and corporate finance issues.
This course can also be offered through Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) format.
By the end of this course, the participants will be able to:
- Enhance their investment decision skills for LNG projects
- Develop an appreciation on the way LNG projects operate
- Gain advanced level Excel modelling skills for project economic evaluation
This course is intended for energy sector commercial and business development managers, energy sector analysts, economist and finance analysts involved in the LNG sector, LNG fuel suppliers, new Engineers in the LNG sector, Oil & Gas industry professionals who are looking to broaden their general knowledge in LNG, professionals who are involved in the LNG supply, trade, and distribution and are interested in the LNG technical fundamentals along with the economics of the LNG value chain, project investors and banking professionals, fleet owners and other potential end-users of LNG as a fuel.

A highly experienced Oil & Gas consultant with strong analytical skills and a proven track record of delivering results to a consistently high standard, your expert course leader brings more than 17 years of experience working as a professional economist for various Oil & Gas companies. He has industry expertise in all key areas, including project appraisal, portfolio evaluation, capital raising activities, commercial/contract negotiation. He is also an Advanced user of Excel and other MS Office applications, @RISK, PEEP, and Palantir.
He has worked extensively with major Oil & Gas companies on a variety of economics projects and petroleum fiscal regimes, leading the investment appraisal, risk, and sensitivity exercises to identify commercial value drivers for commercial teams. He started his career as a drilling engineer but later moved into petroleum economics. He has been a consultant economist with several Oil & Gas firms such as BG, Shell, Enquest, Seplat, Talisman, Anadarko, Occidental, Vitol, Petroceltic, Kapok Capital, Oriental Energy.

Practical Work Experience:
- Consulting Oil & Gas clients for financial analysis and financial modelling
- Running financial/sensitivity/scenario analysis and cash flow impacts, NPV, IRR, Pay-Out and other financial indicators
- Assisting clients’ finance/planning team in asset valuation, capital budgeting, corporate financing and financial analysis
- Undertaking model audit and enhancements for upstream/midstream/power projects
- Delivering corporate training/workshops in cashflow/financial modelling/ advanced Excel
