About this Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT)

This Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) defines the supply chain process by equipping participants on the details of the supply chain functions and their interaction in the upstream Oil & Gas sector.

To help participants understand better, it provides a linkage of the procurement and logistic functions within a chain. This VILT will also highlight recommended practices in Purchasing, Expediting, Inspection, Shipping/Transportation and Material Management.

At the end of the VILT, participants will:

  • Get a thorough understanding of the Supply Chain and ways to optimise its efficiency through recommended practices and exercises
  • Access a deep knowledge of all the golden rules, practices and strategic tools of the purchasing process
  • Understand the interaction between the different links of in the upstream Oil & Gas sector

This VILT has been initially designed for Buyers as it strongly focuses on the Purchasing Process. It will also be necessary to any party of the Supply Chain which includes Expediters, Stock Controllers, Transit Clerks. It is also recommended for those from the Logistic function who want to enlarge their domain of knowledge of the Supply Chain.

Your expert course leader is an independent consultant and advisor for local content and value creation in various oil producing countries. He has embarked on numerous missions on cost optimisation and business development for both public and private sectors. He has also organised and led webinars on local content and value creation, including “Oil & Gas in Africa, Issues and Strategy”.

He previously worked for Maersk Oil Angola, Yemen LNG Company and Total Angola in roles such as Logistics Manager, Industrial Logistic Manager/ Interim Contract & Procurement Manager and Marine & Logistic Manager respectively. He is also a mentor at Sciences Po Paris Lead Campus programme.
