About this Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT)
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is penetrating and reshaping many areas of our lives as well as boosting the efficiency of our industries. Wherever extensive data or past records of activities exist, AI can be applied to generate models and trends that are beyond our current comprehension of our business. There is no limit to the potential use of AI. It only requires our imagination and ingenuity to find new ways of leveraging this fascinating technology to our advantage.
The application of AI in downstream oil & gas is still in its infancy but the progress is rapid in this area. It is only a matter of time before AI becomes an omnipresent factor in refinery operations, optimisation, profitability and safety. The younger generation of plant operators will face the challenges that come with embracing this new technology.
This Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) will equip participants with up-to-date information on AI and prepare them for its almost unlimited use in the downstream oil industry. To our knowledge, this is the first Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) of its kind worldwide.
By attending this Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT), you will be able to:
- Gain an understanding of the current state of AI
- Be conversant about Machine Learning
- Acquire basic knowledge of potential uses of AI in downstream oil & gas
- Understand how AI affects, replaces and creates new job opportunities
- Be prepared for the future “partnering with tools”
As almost all areas in downstream oil & gas oil will be impacted by a widespread use of “intelligent” machines. This Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) will be beneficial to both technical and non-technical staff, in particular:
- Plant managers and supervisors
- Process and instrumentation engineers
- Plant operations and planning engineers
- Data administrators
- Maintenance and safety engineers
- Logistics support
Your course leader is currently a Professor at the University of Surrey (UK) and Chief Technologist at Imubit, a Houston-based AI start-up, where he is responsible for the development of AI applications in refineries. Before that, he worked for 23 years at KBC Process Technology (UK), as Principal Consultant in the field of refinery optimisation and profit improvement. He participated in 65 refinery surveys world-wide, which produced hundreds of millions of dollars of benefits.
He is a renowned authority in the field of refinery process optimisation. He has published over 30 technical papers, conducted numerous refinery training courses worldwide, and chaired sessions and panel discussion at major international refining and petrochemical conferences.
