About this Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT)

The use of hydrogen as an alternative energy carrier offers unlimited possibilities as well as a wide range for its applications. Hydrogen will increasingly play an important role in the future energy system as it seeks to supplement fossil fuels in the scheme of working towards the goal of lowering carbon emissions and addressing climate change challenges in the long-term.

Water Electrolysis, a process using electricity for hydrogen production, will be the main option that contributes to climate change mitigation although it is not prevalent yet. Knowledge of electrolyser technologies with regards to the different types of systems, their available scale, technical parameters, system components and interfaces will be of significant importance in hydrogen production. Overall, a careful and efficient system design will be required to achieve a cost effective and reliable production of hydrogen.

This 3 half-day Virtual Instructor Lead Training (VILT) course will equip participants with an overview of the technological, economical and market aspects of implementing large scale electrolysis projects. It will also provide an outlook of the developments in hydrogen production as well as the implementation of a road map and strategy for hydrogen utilization.

This course is delivered in partnership with Fraunhofer IEE.
