About this Training Course 

The electric power substation, whether generating station or transmission and distribution, remains one of the most challenging and exciting fields of electrical power engineering. Recent technological developments have had a tremendous impact on all aspects of substation design and operation. The objective of the course is to provide an extensive overview of substations, as well as its applications: from substation components and its sizing and applications, ground grid design and considerations, transient voltage recovery at the circuit breaker terminals, insulation coordination and electrical stresses due to lightning strikes, power quality and its impacts on the substation performances, electromagnetic field, as well as testing and commissioning of electrical substation components.
