About this Training Course 

This 2-day introductory course will enable new engineers and non-technical professionals get acquainted and be familiar with the terms, language, technology as well as equipment specification and processes in the Upstream Oil & Gas sector (E&P).

The course will provide the participants with a comprehensive understanding of the technical jargon, acronyms and appreciation of the various pieces of equipment for an overall “big picture” of the industry value chain, while gaining an excellent foundation that leads the way to smoother communication and increased efficiency in inter-department project team efforts.

The participants will discover:

  • How all the various exploration, drilling, production activities fit together and what part they play, where they fit in, in their various roles within the total value chain of these activities
  • What these unfamiliar engineering and technological jargon terms actually mean
  • What questions they can ask their technical peers to gain a better understanding of their circumstances so that they provide better support during their exploration and production activities
  • What happens when something goes wrong during the exploration or drilling phase, how it will affect the company and how best they can help
