About this Training Course
This course teaches hydraulic fracturing in detail plus a matrix acidizing overview so the optimum stimulation treatment can be chosen. It requires a basic understanding of oilfield operations, preferable with prior exposure to well stimulation, though this is not essential. The course is intended for drilling, completion and production personnel who are looking to gain a better understanding of each technique’s advantages, limitations and applications for use in their upcoming completions.
Attendees will learn all the main aspects of fracturing and acidizing, including;
- How to identify problems with the formation
- How these affect production and the ways to overcome them
The course will describe the fluids required for treatments and which ones to select for each scenario. This will include the necessary additives and how to tailor treatments to successfully overcome the problems.
The theory and design of treatments will be covered so the attendants can discuss and understand treatments intelligently with colleagues and service companies, as well as being able to understand treatments in progress. There is also a strong emphasis on treatment safety and minimizing the impact to the environment.
This course is targeted at drilling, completion and production personnel preferably with some stimulation experience who are looking to gain a better understanding of completions and operations.
