About this Training

This course provides the basis to understand and implement the principles of life extension in the context of asset integrity management. It provides an understanding of asset integrity and the strategies for life extensions of ageing facilities within the wider spectrum of systematic management and continuous improvement. It describes some of the key tools that can be used and identifies constraints to effective life extension. The course is aimed at offshore oil and gas facilities but the concepts can be applied to onshore and industrial plants.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the fundamentals of life extension in relation to asset integrity management in oil and gas.
  • Recognise the key factors involved in extending the life of ageing facilities.
  • Develop the capability to implement a systematic approach to asset life extension.
  • Appreciate the broader aspects and implications of extending asset life.
  • Have the opportunity to learn and share experiences in asset life extension to learn about and share real experiences of downhole issues.

The course is intended for individuals who work in the oil and gas, petrochemical and refining sectors. The following personnel will benefit from the knowledge shared in this course:

  • Integrity and inspection professionals
  • Structural engineer
  • Mechanical engineer
  • Pipeline engineer
  • E&I engineer
  • Maintenance engineer
  • Process engineer
  • Operation engineer
  • Technical safety professionals
  • Intermediate
