A petroleum operating company in Malaysia explores, develops and produces natural gas from the Kebabangan Cluster fields 130 km northwest of Sabah. In 2010, the petroleum company conducted a major review of its HSE standard operating procedures (SOP).

As the company has a participating interest from a gas & electricity supplier company in UK, its HSE SOP were originally the UK company documents. Under the review of 2010, these SOP were to be technically reviewed by SMEs within the company, with editing and proofreading services provided by PetroEDGE Sdn Bhd.

On completion of the technical review, PetroEDGE worked to achieve the following:

  • Convert the required HSE SOP to a new company format
  • Edit the content for clarity of purpose, readability and ease of use for operators in the workplace
  • On acceptance of content changes, proofread the final version of each SOP for final production
  • Be on call in the subsequent months for any amendments required.

Satisfied with the results of the initial five SOP reviews, the petroleum company engaged PetroEDGE again to complete the full HSE SOP review of a further 10 SOP in the first quarter of 2011.
