About this Micro Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT)

This 3-part Micro VILT is designed to help participants acquire the fundamental knowledge on Marine Drilling processes on offshore jack-up and floater drilling rigs. The course outlines the various types of offshore drilling rig (Jack-ups, Drilling Semi Submersibles and Drillships – together with Drilling Barges and Tender Assisted Rigs). It details their drilling facilities and systems employed in drilling wells (the derrick, the drill string, the use of drilling muds and cementing). Special attention is given to the Marine Drilling components of the Blow Out Preventer, The Marine Drilling Riser the Riser Tensioner and Heave Compensation Systems. The Micro VILT details how Offshore wells are drilled from Platforms / Other Production hosts or as subsea wells and related examples are provided. It concludes with a short look at advanced drilling approaches such as Horizontal Drilling, Batch Drilling, Dual Gradient Drilling and others. Participants will be provided with a set of videos and multimedia material for post course viewing to enhance learning experience and understanding. Part 1 covers:
  1. General Introduction to Marine Drilling and Well Design
  2. Offshore Mobile Drilling Hosts
  3. Drill Rig Components, Drill String Design and the Requirements for Drilling Muds and Cements
Part 2 covers:
  1. Marine Drilling Riser and Offshore Drilling Rig Components
  2. Drilling Offshore Wells – Platform and Subsea
  3. Advanced and New Drilling Approaches
Part 3 covers:
  1. FPSOs connection to the reservoir to the export requirements
  2. FPSO equipment and functions: description and illustration
Of the Floating Production Hosts used worldwide the most wide spread is the FPSO (tanker like). They are used in shallow and deepwater fields; in small to very large fields; in calm and harsh weather areas. The Micro VILT is designed to help the participants acquire the fundamental knowledge of FPSO Vessels (both New Builds & Tanker Conversions) and to see why they are so widely used by the offshore industry. Upon completion of this session, participants should be able to understand the basics of FPSO and offshore oil & gas processing systems, equipment working principles and field requirements. Participants will be provided with a set of vidoes and multimedia material for post course viewing to enhance their learning experience and understanding of FPSO Technology and to view successful worldwide (but including the GoM) FPSO Projects.   Micro VILT Group Pricing: SGD$1,200 per person / USD$ 889 per person (Minimum 5 persons per group session) For more details on pricing for larger groups or customisation of course outline, call us at +65 6741 9927 or email [email protected]   Delivery of this Micro VILT: The Micro VILT will be delivered through Zoom, MS Teams or equivalent video conference platforms in combination with other online interactive training tools.   Micro VILT Duration: The Micro VILT will be delivered online in 1 session comprising 4 hours, with 2 breaks. Micro VILT Course Materials: All participants will receive softcopy course materials (PDF format).   Breakdown of Modules per session SESSION 1 - Drilling 101 Module 1: Overview
