About this Micro Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT)
Uniformitarianism is a fundamental theory of early geology and in many ways, the present does provide a key to understanding sedimentary rocks. However, in other ways present-day Earth is atypical and the characteristics of carbonate sediments can be better understood by a careful examination of global conditions at the location and time of formation of a carbonate sequence.
This Micro VILT will examine changing Earth conditions including paleogeography, paleoclimate and oceanic chemistry and their effects on carbonate sediments through time.
