About this training course
Transformers and its affiliated are major components of electrical power systems. This course combines theoretical and practical aspects of switchgear and transformer design, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting. The course emphasizes the importance of the magnetic properties of the core design on the transformer’s operational performance and electrical properties, as well as voltage techniques for testing switchgears and its related components such as instruments transformers, cables, protective devices and switches. It addresses economic trade-offs of transformers and switchgears in real-world applications.
Using the latest technology, this 5-day course addresses the above objectives by covering the successful types and operation of transformers, load tap changers, switchgears, circuit breakers, relays and fuses. Participants will learn detailed information about the equipment’s basic design, operating characteristics, specification, selection criteria, advanced fault detection techniques using DGA analysis and Duval’s triangle, critical components, and maintenance issues.
