About this Training
This 5-day training course offers a comprehensive exploration of the interconnected technologies of Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) and CO2 Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR). Participants will delve into the world of CCUS, understanding how they can capture CO2 emissions from various sources and explore the different pathways for utilization and safe geological storage. They will gain a thorough understanding of the various capture technologies, storage options, and the potential of CO2 for beneficial uses, with a particular focus on enhanced oil recovery.
The course then dives into the technical aspects of CO2 EOR, covering methods such as CO2 flooding, water-alternating-gas (WAG) injection, and the application of huff-n-puff technology in unconventional reservoirs like shale oil formations. Participants will learn how to design and optimize CO2 EOR projects, analyse reservoir performance, and evaluate the economic feasibility of these ventures.
They will also explore the evolving policy landscape surrounding CCUS and CO2 EOR, examining government incentives, regulatory frameworks, and the role of these technologies in achieving climate goals. Through case studies of successful projects, they will gain practical insights into project management, risk assessment, and environmental considerations.
By joining this course, the participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to contribute to a more sustainable energy future. Master the technologies that can help reduce carbon emissions while enhancing oil recovery and be a part of the solution in the global energy transition.
