About this Classroom Training

In an era marked by growing energy demands and heightened concerns over climate change, nuclear power continues to play a significant role in the global energy landscape. With advancements in technology, there is a renewed focus on enhancing the efficiency, safety, and flexibility of nuclear energy generation. Nuclear power holds tremendous promise as a reliable, low-carbon energy source, but also comes with complex engineering challenges. However, Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) represent an exciting innovation that makes nuclear power more flexible, affordable, and secure.

This 5-day course provides participants with comprehensive training on SMR technology and hands-on simulated experience in reactor operations. Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of nuclear power plant engineering and operations with a focus on SMRs. They will explore the design principles, strategies, and operational considerations specific to SMRs, gaining insights into their modular design, advanced safety features, and potential applications.

Through a combination of lectures, simulator training, and exercises, participants will grasp practical knowledge and gain hands-on experience. They will develop critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities through theoretical instruction, practical simulation, and programming exercises.

This course will be delivered face-to-face over 5-day sessions, comprising of 8 hours per day, 1 hour lunch and 2 breaks of 15 minutes per day. Course Duration: 40 hours in total, 40 CPD points. Maximum number of participants: 25
