About this Micro Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT)

Pyrobitumen, often referred to simply as bitumen or a tar-mat is a common problem in the Jurassic Arab C and D formations in the Arabian Gulf but it may also occur in other formations, including the prolific Thamama. The distribution of the bitumen is not pervasive and it may be difficult to predict. This can be a problem if it impacts fluid movement in the reservoir. This Micro VILT will examine the likely origins of Mesozoic pyrobitumen in the Arabian Gulf and discuss possible controls on the distribution.
