About this Micro Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT)
In this Micro VILT, participants will look more deeply into areas briefly introduced in the basic course. In terms of presentation structure, following a quick review of the standard format of a presentation, this Micro VILT will look in detail at the ‘trick’ every high-level speaker uses to draw their audience into their topic – the hook.
Then we will dig more deeply into aspects of audiences, such as how attention levels vary. This leads naturally into dealing with these attention levels. This includes the concept of ‘texture’, which looks at the methods speakers use to maintain high attention levels throughout their entire presentation.
Finally, we will look in greater detail at delivery, and the relative importance of verbal and non-verbal aspects. This will lead into an in-depth look at a key instrument for every presenter – the voice – and then the do’s and don’ts of body language, including the use of gestures, eye contact, movement and attire. We will end by stressing the crucial role of rehearsals – the key aspect which takes presenters from mediocrity to excellence.
