About this Classroom Training

This 5-day course, covering the CRE Body of Knowledge (BOK) areas, is designed to help qualified candidates prepare themselves to complete the American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) examination.

Delegates will experience a training environment consisting of lectures, individual and group exercises, multi-media presentations, and interactive computer-based quizzes designed to imbed their classroom learnings.  They will learn about the five areas of the BOK, the qualifications required for certification, the procedures for applying for and taking the examination, and test-taking strategies to help them be successful.

By the end of this course, delegates will understand the complexity level of the test questions they can expect to see. They will have been exposed to sample questions representative of their experience during the examination. This course is designed to familiarize attendees with the subjects that will be covered in the American Society for Quality Certified Reliability Engineer examination and help them prepare for the examination.

  • Delegates should have at least 8 years of experience working in one or more areas of the CRE BOK, and 3 of those years should be in a decision-making role.
  • Individuals who have earned a degree from a college, university, or accredited technical school recognized by ASQ are eligible to request a waiver based on their educational certificate in lieu of the eight-year experience requirement. 
  • Introduce attendees to the five areas of the CRE BOK.
  • Uncover each attendee’s areas of weakness related to the CRE BOK.
  • Customized individualized study plans to improve their chances of passing the CRE examination.
  • Plan effective strategies for taking the examination with participants.
  • Provide attendees with supplementary resources to aid in their examination preparation.
  • Those who aspire to obtain ASQ credentials and meet the minimum requirements for the CRE examination.
  • Operations, maintenance, and reliability engineers working full-time in a paid position who want to bring more professionalism and skill to their organizations.

  • Each topic begins with a statement of the intended learning outcome (LO).
  • Flipped classroom concept will be utilized.
  • Each day there will be class work which consist of teaching, reviewing questions, work through and debriefing of the class projects and in the class homework there will be video based activities accompanying with discussion and justification.
  • Activities such as quizzes, videos, interactive projects and assessment will be incorporated.

He has held key leadership roles, including Maintenance & Engineering Manager at AET Plastic Films, where he led initiatives to improve availability and reduce maintenance costs. He has also held positions as Plant Engineer at Borden Decorative Products and Electrical Maintenance Engineer/Supervisor at Albright & Wilson Americas, where he successfully implemented preventive maintenance programs and led startup efforts of production units.

Your trainer has multiple professional certifications such as Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), Statistical Thinking and Problem Solving, Certified Asset Management Assessor, and Certified Practitioner in Asset Management.

He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Carolina and a B.S. in Business Administration from Coker College. He has further honed his skills through various professional certifications and training programs, including Weibull Analysis of Failures, Reliability-Centered Maintenance, Life Cycle Cost Analysis, and Maintenance Program Development and Management. With his extensive experience, technical expertise, and proven track record of success, he is a respected figure in the field of reliability engineering.
