About this Training

The 4.5-day interactive computer-based training course provides participants with an intimate knowledge of petroleum upstream fiscal systems. At the same time, the rapid current developments in energy transition requires significant attention to this issue. Therefore, the participants will learn the impact of renewable resources and hydrogen on the petroleum industry and structuring of new petroleum-energy arrangements.

Participants will gain a thorough understanding of the nature and details of all important fiscal features in the world and the wide variety of fiscal systems, based on concessions, production sharing contracts, joint ventures, service contracts and other arrangements. The participants will learn the underlying economic characteristics of the various fiscal systems and advanced economic analysis.

He has advised corporations, such as China’s CNOOC and the Kuwait Oil Company with regard to determining fiscal terms for oil and gas fields. He developed PETROCASH, which is the most comprehensive integrated database and computer model for World Fiscal Systems for Oil & Gas. The database involves the attractiveness rating of more than 850 fiscal systems of 163 countries and territories, rated by government take and profitability indicators. He published two books on petroleum economics. Additionally, he has hosted the World Fiscal Systems for Oil & Gas course and participated in training seminars for governments and companies in more than 35 countries for the last 40 years.
