About this Training Course

The transportation function, typically part of procurement, focuses on transporting goods from vendors at points of origin to final consignees in countries of use. In the Oil & Gas industry, these final destinations often include isolated or remote areas with difficult access. This makes transportation an essential element of operational supply chain efficiency. Successfully transporting sensitive industrial equipment across the globe on schedule and with effective cost control is crucial to the success of Oil & Gas development projects and operations.

Module 1: Supply Chain Overview

This module defines the supply chain in the upstream Industry and identifies the role and key players of transit within the Supply Chain.

Module 2: Regulatory Framework and Innovations

This module examines the regulatory framework of Freight Forwarding activities, defining key stakeholders and explaining Incoterms. Participants will gain understanding to select the most appropriate Incoterms for international shipments to minimize risks, costs, and lead times. The module also defines freight forwarder liabilities and roles, customs regulations, and shipment packaging requirements, including those for Dangerous Goods. Practical exercises will allow trainees to apply Incoterms knowledge. The module concludes with an overview of industry innovations: Data Science, Robotics, and Blockchain technology developments.

Module 3: International Air Freight

This module explores international Air Freight Forwarding: key actors, regulatory frameworks, documentation requirements, contracts, and overall transport organization.
