About this Classroom Training
Submarine power cables form the critical backbone of modern offshore energy infrastructure, enabling power transmission across oceans and connecting remote islands, offshore wind farms, and international grids. As the demand for renewable energy and cross-border interconnectors accelerates, so does the need for professionals with deep technical knowledge of these complex and high-stakes systems.
This 3-day comprehensive course is designed to equip participants with the essential knowledge and practical insights required to navigate the lifecycle of submarine power cables. Covering key aspects from design principles, manufacturing, route engineering, through to installation methodologies, protection strategies, and integrity management. The course also delves into real-world failure case studies and forensic investigation techniques.
Participants will gain a multidisciplinary perspective on cable technology, environmental and operational challenges, and engineering best practices, enabling them to make informed decisions and mitigate risks throughout project execution and operational life.
This course will be delivered face-to-face over 3 - full day, comprising of 8 hours per day, 1 hour lunch and 2 breaks of 15 minutes per day. Course Duration: 19.50 hours in total, 19.50 CPD points. This course can also be delivered through Virtual Inspector Led Training.
