Kick Tolerance defines the maximum kick characteristics (density, volume and kick intensity) that can be managed throughout a well control event from initial shut in through influx removal and on to establishment of primary well control. All of this has to be done without exceeding the wellbore pressure envelope at any point in either the open hole or cased hole. This Micro VILT reviews the wellbore pressure envelope before looking at the practical limits for the window and how these can be estimated during the well design stage and measured during well delivery.
