This intensive 2-day course delivers a practical and comprehensive understanding of global coal trading, with a strong emphasis on the Asian market. Participants will gain insight into the dynamics of coal supply and demand, key producing and consuming regions, and the distinctions between thermal and metallurgical coal. Core concepts such as trade lifecycles, logistics, contract terms (FOB, CFR, CIF), and coal specifications are thoroughly covered.

In addition to the physical market, the course explores financial coal trading instruments including swaps, futures, and options. Attendees will learn how these tools are used for hedging and risk management, how benchmark indices like NEWC, API2, and API4 are applied, and how physical and financial strategies can be integrated to manage exposure and optimize profitability.
