About this Training
This technical training course provides a structured approach to the design and calculation of piping systems for industrial plants, with reference to the ASME B31 code family and related engineering criteria.
The program is designed to help participants understand the main design principles used in piping projects, including code requirements, fluid flow, material selection, piping specifications, thickness calculation, insulation, buried piping, layout development, stress analysis and support design.
The course includes 120 hours of technical content. Participants will have one-year access to the Virtual Campus to complete the course. The course is delivered 100% online and on-demand, allowing participants to study at their own pace. Instructor support will be provided through the consultation forum on the Virtual Campus.
Course Outline
This module covers the main technical aspects required to design piping systems for industrial plants according to ASME B31 requirements and complementary engineering criteria.
Participants will learn how to define design loads, calculate pressure losses, select appropriate materials and piping components, determine required wall thicknesses, evaluate external pressure and buried piping conditions, develop piping layouts, analyze flexibility and thermal expansion, and design suitable support systems.
The course also includes practical case studies, conceptual questions, design and calculation sheets, and lessons learned based on real industrial projects.
