About this VILT course 

A detailed look at the current and future LNG markets to understand the global price drivers and the effect the arrival of the big new export areas of Australia and the US may have on the world LNG Market. This course will look at some of the trading strategies and hedging tactics that can be utilised in this growing market area.

At the end of this training course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the approaches to financial price risk management in the LNG business and the ways that technology and regulation are shaping the way we do business
  • Describe international best practice approaches to identify and quantify our price risk exposure in the LNG and energy markets
  • Explain the developments in the physical LNG markets, competing fuels and the future of LNG applications and potential new customers for LNG and Gas

Your expert course leader is a business and system architect and holds the position of CEO and CIO. He is a serial Commodity Fin Tech entrepreneur with a history of combining technology with best practice in order to create innovative industry services & solutions within the Commodity Industry. He co-founded the Trade Flow Funds (USD and Euro) with the Management team headquartered in Singapore since 2016. He was involved in FinTech development and planning the Digital Trade Finance Fund for USD deals which went live in 2018 and led the way to a new approach to physical commodity trade and inventory finance. This was followed by the launch of a Euro fund in February 2020.

He engineered the solution which meets both industry needs and investor appetite and combines a unique business model with proven risk management approaches, a fund platform, and Fintech for scalability. His co-founders complete the cross-discipline team necessary to develop and operate the trade finance solution and fund, coming from a legal, maritime and I.T. background.

He has over 30 years of commercial exposure gained through a broad range of senior executive roles in trading, investment management, commodity finance (Trade and Project) & advisory. He is called upon by governments & multinationals for advice & insight on market developments. In 2014, he was called upon to serve as a Senior Energy Advisor to the United States Department of Defense (TFBSO) and he currently sits on the “Financing Advisory Resources” panel for Enterprise Singapore, the trade development body of the Singapore Government. He was a co-founder of the Technical Analysts Society of Singapore in 1999 and has been a Member of the Energy Institute (UK) since 1991.

He is also a successful published author, having documented and shared his deep industry expertise through a series of nine books and publications with Wiley Finance, Palgrave Macmillan and Springer. Some of these industry textbooks have become required reading materials for professional examinations and university studies.
