About this Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT)

From contract signing to project execution, the efficient and safe execution of heavy transportation and lifting involves a variety of specialised load handling equipment and qualified people.

Through the use of videos, animations, discussions and presentations, this 4 half-day advanced Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) course has been designed to train personnel with more than five years of experience and organisations involved with heavy lifting and transports and equip them with the relevant knowledge to prevent costly accidents and improve safety performance.

At the end of the VILT course, an evaluation test with 30 multiple choice questions will be done in order to evaluate what participants have learned. Since 2008, more than 2,700 delegates in 26 countries have attended this course. This course is approved for 15 SDU points.

*Participants will require a ruler and scientific calculator during the 4 half-days.

By the end of this VILT course, participants will be able to:

This VILT course will benefit experienced construction managers, warrantee surveyors, heavy lift specialists, heavy transport specialists, project engineers, logistics and supply chain engineers, freight forwarders, QHSE engineers, cargo and loading specialists or those involved in daily movements and lifting operations of heavy loads with more than five years of experience.

  • Intermediate

The VILT course will be delivered online in 4 half-day sessions comprising 4 hours per day, with 2 breaks of 10 minutes per day.

Course Duration: 4 half-day sessions, 4 hours per session (16 hours in total).

Your expert course leader is a Senior/Fabrication Engineer & Heavy Lift Specialist who specialises in Heavy Transportation and Handling, Fabrication Management and Structural/Mechanical Engineering and Design. Under Heavy Transportation and Handling, he focuses on heavy and large component lifting analysis in offshore conditions.

His experience is not limited to just Transport and Heavy Lift. It cuts across to Vessel Outfitting, Heavy Civils and Offshore Wind. He has worked on established Loading projects such as Port of Nador and Papa Terra.

He has a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Delft University of Technology.
