Emissions Management: Applicable Codes, Standards, Practices & Methodologies

After the completion of this training course, participants will be able to:

• Develop a generalized understanding of emissions testing, standards, and related topics
• Understand the leak detection and repair (LDAR) process
• Examine EPA, API, AER, DOT, CER, ASEAN rules and requirements and testing procedures
• Review the equipment used in mitigating emissions
• Identify regulations, emissions sources, equipment, and components of a LDAR program
• Evaluate testing equipment used in emissions management
• Assess the performance specifications for Federal and Local reference methods

The course is generally aimed at personnel who are involved in Emissions Management within the Oil, Gas & Energy Industries either upstream, midstream or downstream operations team members. This course will also greatly benefit the following groups but not limited to:

• Facility, Operations, Production, Process, Instrumentation engineers, technicians, technologists, and teams
• Reliability, Maintenance specialists, supervisors, Specialists and team members
• Operations engineer and operations support group

The training course uses real life examples and case studies to explain the setup, preparation, implementation, and operational activities required to successfully complete detection and reducing emissions during operations from a safety perspective in avoiding a methane GHG leak, maintenance and enable cost savings.

The case studies proposed for this course will include:

• A group exercise to consider minimum requirement for emissions management for safety of a plant.
• Generic plan for the implementation of Methane and GHG Emissions requirements towards maintenance management system. Examples shown on various computer software systems.
• Implementation of “Emissions Management Plan” with examples for the Oil and Gas Industry.

Various quizzes can be expanded or arranged to suit the group/interests and topics covered but will generally include the following topics:

• 101 Emission monitoring methods, types and location where they are implemented successfully.
• Safety requirements within emissions management systems.
• Process methane and GHG hazards mitigation, applicable operations management tools components and applicable regulations.
