About this Micro Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT)
This Micro VILT will cover the basic process of production startup, differences in procedures, operational issues, key factors with production facilities – all of which will be addressed in the startup process.
In many operations, there will be offloading and cleaning up through a temporary well test package. Participants will be taken through the common flow assurance issues that may be encountered during the well production phase (sand, scale, wax, asphaltenes, hydrates). The potential impact on well performance as well as the possible applications for chemical injection treatments will be explained.
Participants will understand the key considerations and methods for monitoring well productivity and reservoir performance, requirements for monitoring well integrity, and the causes, risks, and possible methods of mitigation for annular pressure buildup.
Producing a well at too high of a rate can reduce ultimate recovery by damaging the reservoir, coning in water, or damaging the wellbore itself. There are completion options available that provide greater control of the downhole operating conditions. If these control systems are to be used in an optimised manner, careful monitoring of reservoir conditions is also required.

This was my favorite class that I have taken compared to the prior five because this class was the closest to covering production operations than the other five which were strictly well operations but I don't mind taking well operations classes. The instructor was very knowledgeable, encouraged virtual class participation, had a very good PowerPoint presentation, and a few good videos/demonstrations to watch.

The course was well rounded and gave an informative overview of Production Start Up.
