Your expert course instructor has dedicated 59 years to the insurance industry, building a distinguished career as a broker for leading firms. He served as Managing Director of Energy Construction at Marsh and contributed to peer reviews for various Lloyd’s Syndicates. Additionally, he worked with Sedgwick, AAA, and Miller, specializing in the offshore and marine energy sector.
He has lectured extensively and undertaken training work for several bodies, including the Chartered Insurance Institute, the Istanbul Training Centre, the Malaysian Insurance Institute, and the Singapore College of Insurance. He has made several presentations at industry forums such as the Lillehammer Energy Claims Conference, the Gard Offshore seminar at Arendal and in Singapore and the MCE Deepwater Technology Conference. He has undertaken expert witness work, mainly on behalf of London market insurers and latterly in respect of several high-profile hurricane related claims and pollution incidents. He has authored the globally acknowledged text on Upstream and Offshore Insurance and recently published through Amazon “A Brief Guide to Energy Insurance”. This book has been referenced in the House of Lords in a dispute concerning fatalities arising from the Piper Alpha explosion in 1988. Throughout his career, he has assisted major corporations such as Shell, BP, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, Petrofina, Woodside, ENI, and Brunei Shell with policy evaluations and reviews.
