This Introduction to Rare Earth Mining and Processing Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) provides a structured foundation for understanding the full rare earth value chain—from geological formation and exploration through to mining, processing, extraction, and sustainability considerations. His career includes academic appointments in Australia, Germany, and the United Kingdom, as well as recognition through prestigious awards such as a Humboldt Research Fellowship, Erasmus Mundus Fellowship, and Australian Government science communication honors. He holds a PhD in rare earth ore deposit geology and has authored more than 300 publications and textbooks widely used in academia and industry, including in high-level legal and technical proceedings.
