About this Training Course

Growing regulatory and investor pressure has moved climate change initiatives further up the agenda in the energy industry. As a result of this development, there is increased attention and effort to further understand carbon emissions and markets around the world. The Paris Agreement, with its universal requirement on all countries to submit nationally determined contributions (NDCs), marks a significant change for the framework of international co-operation through carbon markets.

The low-carbon energy transition initiatives focus on decarbonizing the energy industry and their respective economies as a whole. To achieve this, the role and potential for carbon pricing and carbon markets will be crucial. During this 3 full-day training course, participants will learn about the key policy issues and the main trends in emissions markets such as future carbon pricing and fiscal policy expectations.

By attending this course, participants will learn:

  • How will climate change and energy transition proceed?
  • Insights into the existing global carbon markets or emerging emission markets
  • How to use the global CDM market
  • The importance of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement
  • Trading in voluntary (or non-compliant) markets
  • The ins and outs of carbon pricing & taxation
  • How to employ green investments

This course has been specifically designed for executives who are responsible for:

  • Business development
  • Finance and fiscal systems
  • Accounting, business analysis and economics
  • Business sustainability or energy transition
  • Legal and regulatory or energy policy
  • Carbon or commodity trading
  • Intermediate
