The offshore and subsea environment is a harsh and aggressive environment and demands that all assets put into service are designed, built and operated within good and best industry practices together with the execution of solid project management principles.
This course presents and discusses those offshore and subsea equipment and systems together with project management principles including the associated project risks which are required to deliver complex offshore / subsea developments successfully.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of subsea field architecture, systems, and key equipment
- Explain the fundamental principles of subsea design, installation, and flow assurance
- Understanding the requirements for subsea inspection and maintenance and its importance in controlling and managing operational risks
- Describe the whole lifecycle of a subsea project, including key decision gates and deliverables
- Apply core project management techniques such as planning, scheduling, and cost control
- Identify and evaluate risks specific to subsea engineering projects and propose mitigation strategies
- Understand different contracting strategies and their impact on project delivery
- Recognise the importance of HSE and regulatory compliance in offshore operations
- Interpret current industry trends, including digitalisation and energy transition technologies
