About this Training Course
Technical professionals increasingly need to translate complex findings, analysis, and recommendations for effective decision-making. Those who face challenges in getting their findings into paper and communicating it to stakeholders, will benefit from attending this training course.
This updated course covers both traditional writing and presentation techniques as well as how to incorporate generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools to enhance both efficiency and quality in writing and presenting. Participants will learn how to plan, structure, write and deliver presentations, create effective prompts for AI tools, critique AI-generated content, and edit and proofread their work, ultimately gaining the knowledge and confidence to produce high-quality documents and presentations.
This separately bookable training course will demonstrate how technical professionals can use their technical knowledge and logical edge to write in a reader-friendly style, produce grammatically accurate reports and persuasively communicate for buy-in purposes.
This is course is recognised by The Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM). ILM is a division of City & Guilds and the UK’s largest awarding body for leadership and management

- Be aware of the options for using generative AI in enhancing the report drafting process, using targeted and structured AI prompts
- Appreciate the importance of thoroughly editing and proofreading material produced using generative AI
- Have gained invaluable practice in creating reports and visuals with generative AI
- Have acquired the confidence to take on technical writing projects with or without the help of AI, knowing that their writing process will ensure they produce documents their readers can understand in one reading
LEARNING OUTCOMES FOR TECHNICAL PRESENTATION SKILLS
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Fully understand the fundamental structure of an effective presentation
- Be able to use tested and unique planning tools to assist planning any presentation efficiently in a timely manner
- Understand the importance of analysing the audience as thoroughly as possible and formulating relevant objectives
- Be aware of the options for using generative AI in preparing presentation slides including data visualisation
- Appreciate the importance of thoroughly editing and proofreading material produced using generative AI
- Have gained invaluable practice creating slides with generative AI
- Have delivered a short presentation on a chosen topic using slides prepared using AI, and obtain immediate feedback on the presentation

Overall, it was a very educational experience. I initially thought 3 days were a bit extensive considering the topic however time flows when you are having a good time learning. Kudos to the trainer for getting us enraptured throughout the process.
Engineer, Mechanical, Cameron Solutions
As a non-technical writer, I still found this course incredibly useful. Within my department, I provide charts and various visual displays for reports but do not have much experience writing the actual reports. The information I've learned in this course will definitely make me more of an asset for my team.
