About this training

Waste management is a critical environmental responsibility for the upstream oil and gas operations. Operators have made public commitments to reduce waste generation and increase recovery. Proper waste management and traceability from cradle to grave is essential, particularly for offshore operations which are tightly regulated to protect ocean integrity.

This course focuses on managing all wastes from oil and gas operations, with an emphasis on hazardous wastes that can impact human health and the environment. It covers the diversity of waste issues in the industry, regulatory frameworks, and structured waste management plans. The course details key roles and responsibilities for waste management actors. It outlines processes for waste minimization, transport, storage, treatment, and disposal, with a focus on proper hazardous waste protocols. Participants will gain knowledge of reporting, monitoring, and continuous improvement of waste management programs. Upon completion, attendees will understand how to effectively implement and manage waste, especially hazardous materials, for oil and gas operations in accordance with regulations and best practices.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
