Plug and Abandonment – Mastering Well Abandonment From Planning to Execution

By completing this course, participants will be able to:

1. Master the fundamentals of short and long-term well integrity, including barrier philosophy, verification methods, and regulatory requirements
2. Evaluate and select appropriate P&A techniques based on well conditions, regulatory requirements, and cost considerations
3. Apply industry best practices for cement plug placement, barrier verification, and long-term integrity assurance
4. Assess and implement new P&A technologies and methodologies to optimize operations and reduce costs
5. Develop comprehensive P&A programs incorporating risk assessment, contingency planning, and quality assurance
6. Navigate global regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements for well abandonment

The course will benefit staff involved in drilling and workover, with 2 – 3 years of experience in the design of wells and/or drilling or workover operations. Prior experience in Plug & Abandonment is not required.
